Jacquard: The "must have" Wardrobe Addition

Jacquard
The re-emergence of the Jacquard fabric is something to get excited about. With its rich history, it is only fitting that it exudes luxury and opulence. The texture and shine of Jacquard creates such intricate detail, making the fabric alter in tonal colour depending on where it catches the light. The fabric has been seen trickling back onto the streets of fashion week, in the form of shirts, skirts and coats, but regardless of what this gorgeous fabric is sculpted into, it will without a doubt turn heads and we cannot get enough!!
With that in mind, here is how we would style such a statement Jacquard piece:

1. Duster Coat
As the Jacquard Duster Coat demands attention, keeping your outfit simple is key. Choose colours that reflect the tones of the coat – if it is Spring/Summer, opt for lighter colours and in Autumn/Winter lean towards the darker tones. Here at M&A we are OBSESSED with our Darlington Duster Coat in Rose and Onyx! Bold and detailed, The Darlington Duster Coat is a coat for those looking for some adventure. It boasts trimmed edges of luxurious fur (that are detachable), and has a gorgeous a belt to cinch in the waist, you can opt to wear the unique piece kimono-style, or open to style a more casual street look.

2. Dress Shirt
The structured shirt in a Jacquard fabric is bold and edgy with feminine flare. You can tone it down by wearing a simple high-waisted skirt or light jeans; or you can add to the fabulousness that is Jacquard by teaming it with matching Jacquard pants or shiny leather to step out into the “Pajama wear trend” we have mentioned in an earlier blog post (see here –  Pyjama Suiting Trend). With this detailed fabric in such a simple day-to-day form, it makes it attainable to both the fashion novice and fearless.

3. The Pant
Patterned pants should be a closet staple. Timeless and effortlessly teamed with a blouse, it can be the easiest go-to when it comes to a cocktail event. When Jacquard is added to the mix, the outfit is immediately lifted! Not only patterned but textured, a simple blouse is all you need to compliment the piece. If you add a Jacquard blazer to the outfit, you will be the most stylish fashionista in the room!
