Roaring Good Times for The Ritchie’s - Eliza & Dave

The colour palette for the wedding of vivacious lovebirds Elle & Dave was just as vibrant as the gorgeous couple themselves. Set amongst the secluded courtyard of the historic Guildhall in picturesque North Fremantle, the palette consisting of forest green, neon pink, black velvet and leopard print perfectly complimented the grand yet intimate venue as well as the all-embracing vibe of friends and family.

Elle explains, getting married when you’re a little older has given her a clear vison of who she is, who they are as a couple, and how they wanted their big day to look. Absolutely nailing it in the style stakes, the fetching groomsmen donned hot pink floral buttonholes, with handsome page boys Vance and Griffin sporting stylish leopard print suspenders, and the bridesmaids in striking pink heels.

Making the big day even more momentous was having all four of the couple’s grandmothers in attendance. With a special shout out for Granny Sorensen’s birthday, all guests were invited by celebrant Elaine Riley to sing her a very special happy birthday.

Accompanied down the aisle by proud mum Jo, our stunning bride exudes effortless confidence in our Capri Gown. With its thigh high split showcasing Elle’s enviably long legs, Elle describes feeling fierce and exactly like herself, but the “Vogue version”.  Putting her own spin on the traditional glam look, Elle paired her Capri Gown with statement embellished earrings by Christie Nicolaides underscoring the bold magenta hues of the florals.

Flash back 13 years, what started as a boy’s surf trip was soon hijacked into a love story. Despite both being from Perth, Elle and Dave met while she was holidaying on the Gold Coast with girlfriends, and he was adventuring around Australia with his best mates. A few months later the universe brought them together again, this time back on home soil in Perth. Undeniably drawn to one another they soon announced they were boyfriend-girlfriend, which in Dave’s mum Bev’s book was VERY big news.

This union of love was an irrefutable act of fate, as it was later discovered Dave’s great-grandfather had given Elle’s Nanny Bev away at her wedding. In addition, the father of the groom’s cousin is the mother of the bride’s childhood best friend. For a moment, terror set in as Elle and Dave analysed whether they might have been cousins themselves. These worries were just as quickly refuted. With fond amusement, both Elle’s dad and stepdad recount tales of the three Ritchie Brothers from back in their surfing and footy glory days.

Through all the wonderful times, as well as adversity – a quick acknowledgment to Dave who zealously begin extensive renovations on their first home last year, with Elle 6 months pregnant with their second child and still navigating the obstacles amidst Australia’s first national lockdown. Our gorgeous couple have come out stronger and continue to exhibit such profound love for each other, not to mention just how fabulous they look doing it!

A Beautiful Love Story - Teghan & George

A serendipitous meeting at a mutual friend’s going away party, followed by copious amounts of Russian vodka and a few robot dance moves, turned out to be the start of a fairy-tale romance between lovebirds Teghan & George. Unbeknownst to George, rocking up to the party not knowing a soul besides the host may have been one of his best decisions yet. Across the room, a gorgeous girl with piercing blue eyes wearing a white flowy dress caught his attention. His natural charisma and infectious smile kicked into play, making it easy for George to seamlessly join her conversation and incidentally be introduced to the woman of his dreams.

As the night went on, George struck up conversation and instantly connected with Teghan’s brother, Matt. George concluded this would work in his favour, surely a girl with a brother has an intricate understanding of how men operate, right?  Teghan sharing such a strong bond with her brother was reminiscent of the close relationship he had with his own sister, just another thing they have in common. Saying this, George recounts if Matt wasn’t there that night, he would have been more than obliging to accept a tipsy smooch from Teghan as she said her goodbyes. Instead, this charming prince respectfully went in for a peck on the cheek, as Cinderella squirrelled off to Hungry Jacks for a Whopper with extra cheese.

Fast forward 6 years (and one gorgeous son) later, George was once again laying eyes on this stunning bombshell in the white dress. This time, the soon-to-be Mrs Baramily is wearing the ultra glamourous Capri Gown from Mode & Affaire’s very own Bridal Gown Collection. The structured bodice of the volumous Capri Gown fitting our bride like glove and delivering the perfect hourglass figure. You could almost assume Teghan had been poured into her dress the way it accentuates her flirtatious feminine silhouette.

Teghan fell in love with the Capri Gown after originally visiting the Mode & Affaire Studio to try on a different gown. The one modification she requested was to make the thigh split higher, much higher! It paid off big time, with her chosen “something blue” being her fabulous powder blue stiletto heels discernibly peeking through the split as Teghan sashayed down the aisle showing off her enviable toned legs.

O’brien Originals captured the magic of the Big Day, both bride and groom along with their nearest and dearest could not keep the smiles off their faces. We have loved every moment of our bridal journey with gorgeous Teghan. Her contagious optimism and boundless effervescence make it easy to see how Teghan captured George’s attention and held onto his heart. Initially meeting on the same date as her mother sadly passed away years before, Teghan believes this extraordinary man was sent to her by her Mum as a gift she will cherish for ever. With the same butterflies and giddy excitement from the first night they met, these young lovers look forward to everything the future holds, perhaps just with slightly less straight vodka.

The moral of this beautiful love story, it always pays off to follow up with a cheeky Facebook message the night after meeting a gorgeous stranger. And secondly, when it comes to a thigh split the higher the better!

An Incredible Winter Wedding - Caitlin & Eric

The infectious smiles on the faces of our recent M&A Bride, Caitlin and her husband Eric is what we love the most about weddings. From the moment they met these two have made each other laugh and they haven’t stopped since.

On their first date 6 years ago at a local Italian restaurant, Eric hastily asked the waitress if she could please hurry their food along as he had somewhere else to be. Their shared sense of humour quickly became evident when Caitlin broke out in giggles as she knew he was joking. The waitress on the other hand, thought he was serious. From that first date Caitlin and Eric have shared a cheeky sense of humour, love of a good time and delicious red wine.

Fast forward to April 2020 on the day these lovebirds were celebrating settlement on their new home together, Eric got down on one knee and popped the question. Followed with a resounding yes by Caitlin, the couple jokingly sealed the deal with a playful “elbow-tap” given the COVID restrictions.

On the 24th of July 2021, Caitlin and Eric married at the charming Buckland Estate in the heart of the Avon Valley, WA. The grandeur of the stately Victorian Georgian manor attracted the enthusiastic lovebirds from the moment they set foot on the grounds with the promise of an incredible winter wedding.

Blessed with crisp blue winter skies, the guests arrived swathed in exquisite furs and feathers for the gorgeous outdoor ceremony set amidst the sprawling countryside and grand heritage homestead. As guests kept toasty by the bonfire while warming their insides with the liquid gold of a spiked hot chocolate, the gorgeous bridal party slipped into their Mode & Affaire Laci Fur Jackets.

Our stunning bride Caitlin paired her Demetrios Gown with our Laci Fur Jacket in Dove, perfectly complimenting her sapphire engagement ring and completing her look with Willie Creek Pearls. While the beautiful bridesmaids coordinated their aptly coloured sapphire dresses with our Laci Fur Jacket in French Navy for a delicious rich winter palette.

Exaggerated Luxe in the Elodie Jacket Snow

An extra year in the making, the fabulous wedding of Amy & Cory was certainly worth the wait.

 Wedding

After 15 years together and three gorgeous kids, these two lovebirds still look at each other like they’re on their first date. The wedding celebrations took place amongst the spectacular scenic vista of Wise Winery in idyllic Eagle Bay.

Complimenting the laid-back vibes of the beloved south-west, the groom wears a soft-grey blazer paired with his signature classic Vans. A stark contrast to the ultra glamourous bride who looks as if she’s just stepped off the runway. Accompanied by her proud dad and the best man, Amy and Corey’s beaming son Banjo, the bride is a vision in tulle as she glides down the aisle.

The scene-stealing flower girls look utterly angelic dressed in white from head to toe, though their cheeky smiles portray what’s to come later in the evening when they sneak off to the photobooth. Harper wears the Kids Plume Jacket in Snow and Tilly wears the Girls Ostrich Feather Cape, both styled with Tutu Du Monde skirts.

Amy looks the epitome of glam, complimenting her stunning gown with our Elodie Cropped Jacket in Snow. As the sun goes down, the golden light catches the detail and texture of the luxe fur adding that little extra spark of magic. The gorgeous mother-of-the bride is not to be outshone, Marls looks divine in her Valentina Feather Jacket in Blush.

The laughs kept coming and the bubbles kept flowing, we wish we could relive this wedding every weekend.

When you know, you know! Chrissie & Chris’s Fairy-tale Surprise Wedding

They say, good things come to those who wait and it’s certainly true for our lovebirds Chrissie and Chris. After being friends for more than 20 years, a chance of fate bought Chrissie home to Perth for a month prior to starting a new job in Hong Kong.

When Chris became aware that gorgeous Chrissie was back in town, and single (thank you Cupid) he jumped at the opportunity to invite her out for a drink.

Following that serendipitous meet-up they were inseparable for the entire month, with Chris affectionately earning the nickname of Chrissie’s “summer lover”. They decided a long-distance relationship wasn’t going to work; however, the daily facetime chats weren’t slowing down. Arriving home to her new apartment one day to a huge bunch of flowers, the card read from; your summer, autumn, winter and spring lover. Chris visited the next month, and both agreed they had something truly special and wanted to make it work.

The gorgeous lovebirds were engaged in September 2018, but with Chrissie travelling and commuting for up to 7 months of the year, a big wedding was never part of the plan. Enter 2020; with no travel in sight (a blessing in disguise) Chrissie and Chris blissfully settled into their newfound domestic life. Joined by Chris’s two daughters Paris and Faith, finding themselves suddenly housebound they enjoyed a ‘normal’ family life for the first time filled with plenty of Uno nights, homecooked dinners and lots of long walks with their adorable border collie Bailey.

At almost 2 years to the day that they got engaged, with the additional celebration of it being Chris’s birthday, they planned a special ceremony at City Beach for 11th September. With restrictions in place they decided to keep it intimate, light-hearted and fun, joined by Chrissie’s parents and her goddaughter Ali. The three model-esque stunners complimented their gorgeous Bec & Bridge dresses with our Macie Faux Fur ¾ Jacket in Petal, the perfect contrast to the beautiful bride in her blush pink dress (Hansel & Gretel) adorned with our Laci ¾ Fur Jacket in Snow.

Following a beautiful ceremony by celebrant Brooke Lingard, they toasted with champagne and photos on the limestone track leading down to the beach. This same track is fondly named “poop alley” as it’s where Bailey choses to do his morning business on their daily walks.

Meanwhile, back at their house were 60 friends and family members, obliviously invited over for a house-warming celebration. With our newlyweds arriving an hour later, they entered following an announcement by Chrissie’s best friend to “please raise a glass to Mr & Mrs Chris Dee”. The room erupted into cheers and screams of excitement with the merriment continuing well into the early hours, just the way they wanted it!

Winter Wedding in NYC - Rose & Ryan

Following a breathtaking surprise engagement in New Zealand involving an intimate mountain top picnic via helicopter, it was clear the wedding of Rose and Ryan would be something truly unique. With our gorgeous bride, originally hailing from England and groom from Australia, they faced the inevitable task of deciding where to have the wedding.

Sharing an interest in museums, musicals, and a penchant for all things Christmas, after 3 years of contemplation our creative couple locked in a winter wedding in fabulous NYC. They enlisted the help of Simply Eloped, taking all the stress and angst out of planning their big day, leaving them to focus on the details of their holiday and of course, what to wear!

The spectacular combination of prints, colours and patterns was perfectly on point. The glam bridesmaids all wearing M&A The Wild One faux fur coat in Rosé, styled with tartan tights and Doc Marten boots. Passers-by couldn’t help themselves but to stop and compliment on these could-be rock stars.

Our divine bride pictured in her custom Vivienne Westwood gown, embracing the delicate lace and silk fabrics in contrast to the boldness of her own embellished Doc Martens. The ultimate showstopper, besides the bride herself would have to be our Queen of Hearts faux fur coat completing this amazing ensemble. Keeping our gorgeous bride warm and snuggly on the freezing streets of NY, with the unique addition of “something blue” being a pair of oversized M&A powder blue earmuffs.

These divine images of their magical wedding day captured by Gianna (www.giannaleofalcon.com) are something that will never get old and bring so much joy, you almost feel like you were there. With their personal mantra defined by “Do what makes you happy, and don’t waste time on anything that doesn’t”, how could the wedding of Rose and Ryan be anything but FUN!

A Remarkable Wedding for a Perfect Pair - Leona & Jason

Our indisputably enamoured couple Leona and Jase have been through it all, and now more than ever it really makes you appreciate the wonderfulness of life’s ups and downs. Meeting 5 years ago while both living in Sydney, gorgeous Leona a talented hairdresser and Jason a rugged hands-on builder (every girls’ dream, right!?). They now share two adorable daughters, Frankie and Darcie and agree becoming parents has been an absolute lifetime highlight.

With both Leona and Jason preferring to circumvent the spotlight, the wedding planning process was taxing to say the least. Coming from enormous families, they decided an intimate celebration of immediate family and one friend from either side. With a total of 15 guests allowing them to truly enjoy the day.

When the day arrived, it was just perfect. I mean, with the beautiful neutral variegated colour palette of Saint Omar Park and the Remarkables mountain ranges as the backdrop how could it be anything but perfect.

Our stunning bride wore our dreamy Plume Feather Jacket in Blush paired with her spectacular beaded Galia Lahav gown, and sultry bold lip eliciting an old-world romance vibe. The muted palette of airy pastels interwoven with richly hued crimson florals was showstopping alongside the playful marabou feathers.

Describing the day as “another level of happiness” our bride and groom emanate pure love and magic. We too at M&A will relish in their happiness and these amazing photos for years to come!

Divinely Eclectic Rural Wedding - Jenna & Marcus

Just reminiscing on the divinely eclectic rural wedding of the gorgeous Jenna & Marcus, and we just want to say wow.

Oozing rustic appeal set amongst a charming homestead in the scenic countryside, our gorgeous bride Jenna was a vision in her custom Desert Reign Shearling Collar in Snow.

As the subtle breeze of clean rural country air occasionally swept through the ceremony, the animated Mongolian Fur cascaded down the front of Jenna’s elegantly understated ivory gown.

Both textually and aesthetically pleasing, the Desert Reign Shearling Collar is perfect for the uninhibited bride wanting something a little more fun.

Embracing their individuality, the gorgeous bridesmaids wore the Infiniti Scarf styled as an elegant bolero in an array of complementary hues. The exquisitely eclectic shades of Mulberry, Onyx, and Soft Grey work so well together, enhancing the neutral tones of the bucolic rural surroundings.

As discernible joy and elation emanated from the exuberant lovebirds throughout the entire celebration, this special day was truly one to remember.

Pure Happiness in the Heavenly Heights of Queenstown - Jess & Marty

Our gorgeous couple met in 2012 while Jess was on a ski trip in Japan, with Marty being her charismatic ski instructor (the stuff our favourite Rom-Coms are made of!).  As nothing sets a scene quite like the magic of snow-covered mountains, it comes as no surprise these loved-up newlyweds decided to get married in magnificent Queenstown, NZ.

Continuing to ski together every year is one of this outdoorsy couple’s most highly anticipated and enjoyable moments spent together. Marty’s exceptionally strong connection to the alpines being evident having summitted Everest in 2013, as well as having taught five ski seasons in Queenstown. It was a no-brainer that the most romantic day of their lives (thus far) would be set amongst the whimsical winter wonderland of the Remarkables mountain range.

On a spectacular cloudless day with temperatures below -1° the atmosphere was anything but icy. Enjoying a breathtaking helicopter ride to the top of the mountain they shared an intimate moment of reflection in their happy place, with their discernible warmth and love for each other filling the air (and our hearts)!

Surrounded by their favourite people, the joyous ceremony held down by Lakehouse Joela was absolutely enchanting. Encompassing Marty’s Danish heritage and the folklore of “Hygge” meaning a sense of contentment and cosiness, Jess divinely flaunted her aptly named Snow Laci Fur Jacket keeping her deliciously toasty throughout the day and well into the night.

Because one completely perfect day amongst the picturesque mountains just isn’t enough, Jess and Marty took all their guests on a ski-day following the wedding to continue the fun!

Love At First Text - Christina & Nathan

From the very get-go Christina and Nathan felt an instantaneous connection. After meeting via a mutual friend exchanging their phone numbers, they began texting extensively. Hitting it off seamlessly during their first face-to-face encounter, beginning as a coffee date and creatively being extended well past closing time as they venue-hopped with neither wanting the date to end. Their undeniable compatibility became exceedingly patent along with Nathan’s magnetic sense of humour, within days of texting back and forth Christina knew he was The One!

When their special day arrived, Christina knew she wanted to incorporate her family heritage into their celebrations by choosing the beautifully rustic Entrata Italian Restaurant as their wedding venue. Treating their guests to the warmth and hospitality that Italy is known for, with an exquisite mix of modern and classic dishes surrounded by bucolic exposed brick walls and wine bottle lined ceiling beams.

Our gorgeous bride wore the most befitting vintage-inspired lace gown by Allure Bridals, tying in perfectly with the whimsical soft tones of the groomsmen’s linen suits and the soft tonal sea-mist Olga Cassini bridesmaids’ gowns. Christina’s stunning M&A Plume Feather Jacket in blush was the icing on the cake, with its playfully romantic feathers fluttering so elegantly with her every move. The poignant contrast of colours against the picturesque backdrop of the wetlands captured so beautifully by their amazing photographer (Hello Sweetheart).

A Gift of Love that Keeps on Giving - Emma & Brody

What to Wear to a Wedding

Our gorgeous couple Emma and Brody became engaged last July while sailing with friends around the magnificent Whitsundays. They soon realised that planning a wedding is never easy, especially when every potential venue is “The One”.

what to wear to a wedding

Having been blissfully engaged for seven months with no plans for their wedding underway, that all changed within minutes one day in February. While Brody provided moral support via Skype, Emma had (nerve rackingly) made the winning bid at a charity auction for a complete wedding package, with all the proceeds going to Camp Quality. After struggling with the notion of spending so much money on themselves for just one day, the realisation that this money was going to a deserving charity seemed like a sign from the universe.

what to wear to a wedding

With the majority of the meticulous details taken care of by generous vendors across the New South Wales Hunter region, meant the delighted lovebirds were able to focus on the finer details such as “What to wear!”. As their wedding day was set just five months away, our gorgeous bride Emma fine-tuned the last of the details include her stunning ensemble completed by our alluring Plum Jacket in delicate Snow.
